Urzila Carlson (she/her) is a multi-award-winning, Queer, South African-New Zealander Comedian. One of the biggest names in comedy in Australia and her home New Zealand, she has garnered a legion of fans worldwide in recent years, not least of all thanks to her hit NETFLIX hour-long comedy special, Overqualified Loser which was released in 190 countries, and its stable partner, Comedians of the World.

She won the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s People’s Choice Award for most tickets sold in both 2019 and 2022 and is a much-loved staple on Ten’s smash-hit panel show, Have You Been Paying Attention?

Not content with owning the stage and the small screen, Carlson is now in the fourth season of her chart-topping premiere podcast That’s Enough Already! She also makes her feature animation debut in 2023 as the voice of Honkus in Ozi, alongside?Donald Sutherland, Laura Dern, RuPaul and Amandla Stenberg.

Urzila is bringing her comedy tour “It’s Personal” to Vancouver’s Hollywood Theatre on August 1st. This is a show about keeping your cards close to your chest but walking around naked. Can we have it all? Yes, but also bloody no because it’s none of your business: IT’S PERSONAL. Get your tickets at stubhub.ca and for more on the artist, visit them on linktree at urzilacarlson

PLASTIC SOUL BOYS
A mysterious new music duo based out of West Hollywood is generating plenty of buzz these days and their motto is “We Sing. We Play. We’re Gay.” Their respective labels won’t let them use their real names, but we can tell you this…

The Plastic Soul Boys are a duo composed of Lead singer & Co-Producer Paul (just Paul he/they) is from New York but lives in LA. Multi-instrumentalist, backing vocalist & Co-producer Dick (just Dick he/they) is from London, and splits his time between Toronto & LA. Between them they’ve been making music for years and have the resume to prove it.

Paul sang lead on a Hi-NRG classic that was a world-wide hit, and since then has worked with Madonna, Debbie Harry, Bobby Orlando and many more.

Dick has worked with Tom Tom Club, Suicide, Mike Garson (of David Bowie fame) and more, including Canada’s Paul Hyde. Working under various aliases, he’s also produced a number of “radio hits” in Japan, Greece & Lima Peru, as well as a club hit in The Castro in San Francisco. He was also on the first ballot for a Grammy Nomination in the Dance/Electronica category in 2007. He’s also contributed to songs written for Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis & Alexandra Burke.

Plastic Soul Boys is the sound of the pair of them taking a vacation from the Hi-NRG and Synth Pop sounds with which they’re usually associated. Banksy for music. Their latest bit of ear candy is the single Tell Her That I'm Gay/Any Other Way (808 Mix) and it is available now on all digital platforms. Find them at plasticsoulboys.bandcamp.com/
