In this episode, Ankita Goyal speaks to Laura Albast, a Palestinian-American journalist and media analyst working at the Institute for Palestine Studies-USA, regarding misinformation and disinformation in the news and the ripple effects of the dehumanization of oppressed peoples. She also speaks to Shatha Mahmoud who is a Palestinian refugee and organizer with the Toronto chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement about Canada's stance on this decades-long siege of Gaza. Lastly, Hina Imam, the Spoken Word Manager, interviewed a UBC Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR) student organizer who addresses the tense political climate at UBC; the vitriol Palestinian students and organizers have been facing; and offers direct actions that listeners can take.
