“It’s festival season, though most music-loving Vancouverites already know that. With some of the continent’s biggest and best music festivals already come and gone, the opportunity to attend these unique concert experiences is quickly slipping away with the month of June.
And while there are a great and many assortment of festivals around Vancouver and the nearby areas, Vancouver proper has only recently adopted its very own full-fledged international music festival” (Words by Jasper D. Wrinch for Discorder Magazine).
Levitation Vancouver returns this June 16th -19th with venues spanning the downtown area, including The Commodore Ballroom, Rickshaw Theatre, and The Cobalt.
Highlights of the festival include:
- Flying Lotus: “The bass kicked in and the crowd lost it. He looked at us and smiled ear to ear, knowing that this was only the beginning” (Words by Chibwe Mweene for Discorder Magazine).
- White Lung: “…the band’s effortlessly powerful presence and manic anthems make them vital” (Words by Jonathan Kew for Discorder Magazine).
- Dada Plan: “incomparable brand of drum-machine driven psychedelia” (Words by Sam Tudor for Discorder Magazine).
