Our special guest is Executive Chef Andrew Alojado from Layunin - a pop-up company based in Vancouver focused on reinventing Filipino cuisine through modern and global techniques. Layunin is more than just Filipino food, its intent and purpose is to push the Filipino culture to the forefront through community collaboration. With great things coming, Andrew is the visionary to watch out for.
Filipino food is the original fusion food, its many influences and flavors define who we are. As Jose Antonio Vargas puts it - we are our food and there is a special kind of pride that permeates when we gather together and eat. When you pull up to eat Filipino food, its not just a party - it's a gathering, the origin of community.
