Unceded Airwaves Episode February 20, 2023

Storyteller Richard Van Camp

5:00pm - 6:00pm

Unceded Airwaves is hosted by the Indigenous Collective at CiTR. As a weekly radio show, we aim to showcase the diversity and brilliance of Indigenous cultures while highlighting influential Indigenous kin. We recognize that media has often been used as a tool to subordinate or appropriate Indigenous voices and we are committed to subverting these dynamics. The team is comprised of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people who are passionate about story-telling, alternative media, and Indigenous affairs. We broadcast from the traditional, ancestral, current, and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Wautuh Peoples.
On this episode of Unceded Airwaves, Kleo Skavinski (they/them) is joined by Tlicho author Richard Van Camp (he/him). Van Camp has published 26 books in 26 years! They talk about his writing, characters, and gossip. Kleo and Richard share jokes and personal stories, connecting over their shared love for Denendeh. Enjoy this episode with a cup of tea and a big 'Hoop' of honey. This episode ends with a special reading by Richard. Mahsi cho!
