City Pop

8:00pm - 9:00pm

On this month’s episode we dive into the absolutely bizarre “genre” City Pop. Which was less of a genre and more of a v i b e. After WWII, Japan had an incredible tech-boom which lead to a new found leisure class; with that came City Pop - the perfect music for chilling at the poolside with your stacks of Yen. City Pop was a blend of genres including pop, disco, funk, R&B, boogie, jazz fusion, Latin, Caribbean and Polynesian music which makes it hard to call City Pop itself a genre, but when you hear it you also kind of just know, y’know? Enjoy.

Btw I KNOW I said “prominition” obviously meant prominence lol I’m an idiot. -Char
