QueerFM Featured Guest: Cru an Actor, Model, Dancer and Singer/Rodney DeJong (he/him) and Dr. Eric Berthelet (he/him), the Principals and Founders behind The Living With Pride Foundation

Cru Alexander Timi (he/him/they/them) is originally from Nigeria, coming to Canada at a young age and ultimately moving to Vancouver to study filmmaking at the renowned New Image College. During his time there, his dedication and hard work paid off when he had the opportunity to create his first short film through the Telus Story Hive initiative entitled ORCHIDACEAE.

In recognition of this exceptional film, they were honoured with the prestigious Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Monologue at the New York International Film Awards. These accolades, coupled with an award at the Athens International Monthly Art Film Festival catapulted his career to new heights and solidified his reputation as a filmmaker of immense talent and promise.

Cru is currently chasing his dreams as an Actor, Model, Dancer and Singer, making music that celebrates being Queer and inspiring people to smile and laugh. As an event Producer, Cru’s latest project is an event called House of Card taking place this upcoming June (stay tuned) and they have a new single called COLD HEART coming out in March this year. The Living with Pride Foundation is a nonprofit registered BC Society created in 2022 specifically to address the need for purpose-built seniors housing in Vancouver for our aging LGBTQ2S+ community.
The Foundation is here to build a sense of community engagement through events, build healthy relationships through curated programs and services provided by the great work being done by local organizations.

The Living With Pride Foundation mission is to empower 2SLGBTQIA+ seniors through inclusive housing, services, and community events. Fostering dignity, equality, and social connection and building a stronger, inclusive society where every 2SLGBTQIA+ senior can access the resources they need to thrive.

The Living With Pride Benefit Soiree takes place March 1st at The Bayshore Hotel in Vancouver raising funds and awareness of the Foundation and it’s initiatives.
