You may have seen guest LINDSEY LIND’s (she/her) work without even knowing it. Community developers, Creative Agencies and Small Businesses hire her to uplift their public spaces with murals, developing and refreshing brand identity with compelling and bespoke graphic design. One such installation was the brilliant Pride themed murals that YVR airport commissioned in 2022.

Coming from a background of running design agencies for over 20 years, Lindsey believes that art and design is about connection, joy, elevation, and transformation. She believes in the power to make changes for the better and to bring joy to people through elevating spaces in a way that uplifts the world.

Lindsey is also a (self described) “middle age trans woman discovering that living life was meant to be for me”. Aside from her design talents previously mentioned, she is a musician, artist, craft maker, hiker and the Media Liaison for the 2023 Trans, Two-Spirit. Genderqueer, Intersex March that took place August 4th in Vancouver. You can reach out to Lindsay at www.lindseylind.com or @lindsey.made.it on Insta!

Karter Masuhara (they/them) is a non-binary emerging artist. Their play “Before They Cut Down Our Tree” was chosen for development work through Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre's MSG 1 and 2 Play Development Program and has had two public readings.

Before They Cut Down Our Tree follows two ex-friends as they reunite after the death of a loved one and are forced to reconcile why they broke apart. It’s been ten years. What’s changed? What hasn’t? And what secrets have they been keeping from one another? This is a coming-of-age story that intertwines scenes from the past and present to explore themes of friendship, loss, and identity. The play delves into the intersections of the Asian diaspora experience, queer identity, and femmehood, all of which are historically underserved groups and underrepresented on stage.

Before They Cut Down Our Tree will have its first full presentation at the 2023 Vancouver Fringe Festival which returns September 7th – 17th) with another 11 days of boundary-pushing theatre from performance artists worldwide.

Currently Karter is doing their Masters in Screenwriting at Leeds Beckett University in the UK. For more info visit @btcdot.theatre and @masukarter on IG or check out the festival at vancouverfringe.com
