CJ Run is a 23-year-old rapper and singer-songwriter based in Chicago

Born in Germany, raised in the UK while enveloped in their West African heritage, their work evokes a global sound drawing from UK/US Hip Hop, Pop, Indie, and RnB - flowing together to tell the stories of a black queer + trans person as they navigate love, loss, and the dualities of life.

Along with being an independent artist, they have taught songwriting lessons at the Illinois Student Youth Music Program @ the University of Illinois and surrounding elementary schools. CJ uses music as a means to understand the world around them in hopes that others can see themselves in the process.
