Mix Cassette Episode August 15, 2018

8:00pm - 9:00pm

Welcome back everyone - We have another exhilarating episode in store, however this one seems to simmer beneath the surface with floral melodies, quick, pulsating, understated drums, and great vocals throughout. We begin with a masterwork jazz recording featuring autotuned vocals no less off of Kamasi Washington's latest and greatest, which is followed by an even crazier rhythm section courtesy of Ali Shadeed Muhammad and Adrian Yonge (The Midnight Hour) and great retro vocals from Luther Vandross, and a stirring uptempo jam from Yo La Tengo; this suite is followed by a stellar comeback track (and album) from the Cowboy Junkies, wonderful ambient electro-R&B recordings from The Beat Escape, Johnny Jewel, and Mind Bath, respectively, and swooning numbers from The Internet and Sade featuring the Neptunes; we close with a synthy transition into a bonus gem from one of my favourite artists / albums - Please enjoy~~
