We are convening Asian and Allied government representatives, advocacy organizations, and community leaders to join together on May 30th to denounce Asian Hate, promote solutions, and highlight the staunch allyship that exists to support the Asian community.

This event is being co-organized by the Chinese Canadian National Council for Social Justice (CCNC-SJ) and the Official Faith Based Community Convener for the Province of British Columbia, the Islam Unravelled Anti-Racism Initiative.

Tragically, 2020 & 2021 saw a dramatic increase in anti-Asian hate crimes and assaults against Asian women, men, children, and elders. In Canada, there was a 717% increase in hate crimes against Asian community members in Vancouver. The Atlanta City Shootings in the United States on March 16, 2021 saw 6 Asian women killed by a White gunman and was the culmination of years of rising anti-Asian rhetoric, discriminatory practices, stereotypes, and dehumanization, particularly online during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
