XHM #146 - "Grumpy cat ate all the tinsel" (2012 December 17)

7:30am - 9:04am

One year, I'll tackle my preferred Christmas carol style, which involved church hymnals, most from England, about the bleak midwinter and how the cold and the snow are utterly crushing in spirit and the voices are somber without a single damn bell that jingles. Austere and stoic, building in character-type stuff with warm fortitude and solemnity. I have to load a bit for that, though I know there are choirs and other vocal groups that specialize in more gothic yuletide blessings.
