Democracy Watch Episode Two

5:07pm - 5:57pm

On the November 2nd episode of Democracy Watch, the CiTR News Collective reads headlines from around Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. The program then features two stories originally reported for the UBC School of Journalism's online news publication, The Thunderbird. The first piece examines UBC's 2019 commitment to build "nano-suits" on campus and was reported on by Rehmatullah Sheikh and Jess Mackie. Sheikh reads the story on air and is interviewed by News Collective member Olamide Olaniyan. The second Thunderbird piece was reported by Alastair Spriggs and Dustin Patar. It discusses a rising home-gym movement in residential Vancouver. The piece is read by Spriggs, who is later interviewed on his reporting by News Collective member, Sam Peng. The episode comes to a conclusion with some informal discussion between collective members who are enrolled in the UBC School of Journalism.
