There's been a distinct lack of hip hop throughout the first few weeks of Album Club but don't worry, the release of billy woods phenomenal record GOLLIWOG has lead to that being put to rights today. And we kick off the show with that very billy woods album, getting just a little taste of the dark and brooding atmosphere that woods has created on his most recent release.

But Canada has its fair claim to top tier left-field rappers, and Toronto's Backxwash is an excellent example, with their March release Only Dust Remains creating a similar eerie atmosphere in her own inimitable style.

And of course the UK has its own solid history of hip hop and dance music. For our old album we're throwing it back just a couple of decades to the early 2000s and the release of The Streets' debut record, Original Pirate Material. A recent find for Seth himself despite their success back in the UK, these boys from Birmingham take things a little closer to the dancefloor as they close out the show.
