CHROME HARVEST: Dense, textured, and full of heart - their music is constantly pushing boundaries, weaving in elements of indie rock, experimental textures, and lush arrangements.
Think Spiritualized meets Sufjan Stevens, but with a distinct Albertan undercurrent. At the center of it all are songs that cut deep—personal, introspective, and raw.

Their latest self-titled album, CHROME HARVEST, is their most vulnerable yet, exploring themes of self-identity, honesty, and the struggle to carve out space in the world. It also highlights underrepresented voices in folk music, particularly from South Asian and LGBTQ+ perspectives—something rarely heard in Alberta’s folk scene.

Their debut album Sun-Circuit (2023) made waves on local radio charts, and earned them a feature on CBC Calgary. Their latest releases and live performances have continued to build momentum, catching the attention of EXCLAIM! and pushing their artistry even further.

What started as a university project between Chris Jerwin (guitar/piano/vocals) and Ben Wellman (banjo/guitar/vocals) in an audio production class - has since evolved into a full-fledged music collective. Today, the band includes Evan Brownlee (drums/percussion), Keilan Hakstol (drums/percussion), Connor McGinnis (bass), Ray Wong (saxophone), and Cori Campbell (saxophone)—a tight-knit group of musicians who genuinely love creating together. Queer FM welcomes CHRIS JERWIN (he/him) and BEN WELLMAN (they/them) to QUEERFM to chat about their musical journey…

Their latest single NEED YOU just dropped and is available on all the streamers. You can find the band at chromeharvest.bandcamp.com or on Insta at @chromeharvestt
