It’s the most wonderful time of the year – Music Waste Festival 2013 officially begins tonight!
For over 15 years, Music Waste has rounded up an impressive selection of local bands, artists and comedians to create a three day festival that’ll knock your dance-induced-sweat-soaked socks off.

Bands we’re particularly stoked to see this year include The Courtneys, who were featured on the June cover of Discorder. The Courtneys play at 1:15 AM on Friday at The Astoria, along with Woolworm, The Greater Wall, La Chinga and Bertha Cool. The Astoria is also hosting a Sled Island Warmup Party on Sunday June 9th featuring Tobeatic, Karen Foster and Aquanaut. The reckless punk rock styling of these bands is ‘gonna get you as pumped up as we are for Sled Island 2013.

If you’re looking for a preview of what’s in store for this year’s Art Waste, we recommend heading over to Gallery Gachet on Cordova Street tonight between 7-11 PM. At the gallery, prominent local artists Katayoon Yousefbigloo and Sylvana d’Angelo have brought together a group of 30+ emerging artists from Vancouver to create a group showcase themed around the eclectic and original spirit of Music Waste.

Don’t miss any of the fun! Cover for all shows is just $5, or pick up a pass for access to all events, all weekend long for only $15.
Passes are still available at Red Cat, Zulu, Neptoon and Audiopile Records.
