Unceded Airwaves is a weekly radio program produced by CiTR’s Indigenous Collective. We are committed to centering the voices of Native people and offering alternative narratives that empower Native people and their stories. We recognize that media has often been used as a tool to subordinate or appropriate native voices and we are committed to not replicating these dynamics. The team is comprised of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people who are passionate about radio, alternative media and Indigenous topics and issues.
The one hour program airs every Monday from 11-12pm. Each episode speaks to Indigenous issues, current events and entertainment, and offers community contributions through our weekly #UncededMusic and #UncededEvents listing. You can follow us on Twitter and Facebook! Tune in and we hope you enjoy!
CiTR 101.9 FM is the broadcasting voice of the University of British Columbia, situated on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam people.
