2011 North American Outgames!

CiTR has been awarded a grant from the Community Radio Fund of Canada! With this grant we will be hiring 8 people to provide extensive coverage of the 2011 North American Outgames.

This coverage will include live broadcasts, interviews and/or highlights of sporting events, the Human Rights Conference and the cultural events and celebrations that accompany the games. The week will end with a live broadcast of the March of Athletes in the Vancouver Pride Parade.

Outgames Sports Broadcast Coordinator: This person will coordinate coverage of all sporting events during the Outgames, develop content for the broadcasts and manage all the broadcast producers and volunteers involved in the broadcasts.
Term of employment: June 6 – August 8
Hours: 5 hours/week during June 6 and July 1, 15 hours/week during July 6-22, 25 hours during July 25-31, 5 hours during August 4-5
Total hours: 80 hours Wage: $12/hour

Outgames Conference and Cultural Broadcast Coordinator: This person will coordinate coverage of all conference and cultural broadcasts during the Outgames, develop content for the broadcasts, and manage all the broadcast producers and volunteers involved in the broadcasts.
Term of employment: June 6 – August 8
Hours: 5 hours/week during June 6 and July 1, 15 hours/week during July 6-22, 25 hours during July 25-31, 5 hours during August 4-5
Total hours: 80 Wage: $12/hour

Outgames Technical Coordinator: This person will assess the technical requirements of this project, ensure the proper equipment is ready for use, and provide technical support to the Coordinators and Broadcast Producers in advance and during each broadcast.
Term of employment: June 6 – August 8
Hours: 5 hours/week during June 6-10, 5 hours/week during June 20 – July 1, 15 hours/week during July 6-22, 35 hours/week during July 25-31, and 10 hours/week during August 4-8
Total hours: 90 Wage: $12/hour

Outgames Broadcast Producers (five positions available): These people will implement and execute live broadcasts.
Term of employment: June 27 – August 8
Hours: 2 hours/week during June 27 – July 1, 5 hours/week during July 6-10, 7 hours/week during July 18-22, 12 hours/week during July 25-31, and 2 hours/week during August 4-8
Total hours: 25 Wage: $12/hour
