Extremophiles

6:01pm - 6:31pm

Today, we talk about extremophiles, which are organisms that live in environments too hot, too cold, too salty, or too something for most life. Tune in for some stories about organisms that live in rocks, why some bacteria don't get hypothermia, and more reasons why cockroaches are awesome (or terrifying, depending on your point of view)! We also have an interview with recent UBC Master's graduate Jane Liu, who tells us how to train bacteria to clean up mine tailing ponds.
