Are you a band or musician located in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland? We are now accepting entries for SHiNDiG! 2010.

SHiNDiG is CiTR’s annual battle of the bands competition. All styles are welcome — whether you are a solo country artist or a 10-piece punk band. Past participants includes the likes of The Organ, 3 Inches of Blood, You Say Party! We Say Die!, Japandroids and They Shoot Horses Don’t They?. CiTR 101.9 FM presents a reunion of Shindig bands from today and the past. For 25 years hundreds of locals musicians have spent the cold winter months fighting it out to be Shindig champions. We are now bring a taste of that excitement to the start of spring. Featuring former Shindig contestants Koban, and Petroleum By-Products, Lakefield and Shane Turner Overdrive. Show starts at 9 pm!

Ben Lai’s birthday party listed in Exclaim as top show to attend

Did you know that it’s Ben Lai’s birthday? Ben is the host of Live from Thunderbird Radio Hell and Shindig!, and this year there’s going to be a show to celebrate at the Railway Club. Come out Friday, December 12 to see Apollo Ghosts cover Eric’s Trip, Fine Mist, Safety Show, Chad from My Project Blue, and other special guests. Exclaim even listed this event as one of the top shows this week in Vancouver.

Brenda will give you a t-shirt if you can tell her what other special CiTR person has a birthday on the very same day.
