If that isn’t enough, we will also be showcasing some amazing musical performances, including a celebration of both The Lost Lovers Brigade’s Latest Release Little Skeletons and Kellarissa’s release Moon of Neptune.

LOST LOVERS BRIGADE

The idea of Lost Lovers Brigade was not borne out of an uncommon nor complex ritual. Singer-songwriter Elisha May Rembold picked up a guitar in 2006 and began writing and recording songs at home on tape. Like many previous, her creativity is a function of an inescapable imperative to write and develop ideas into song. Using her Grandmother’s Sears tape recorder which she acquainted herself with as child, Rembold developed a love for the immediacy and sound of lo-fi recordings, resulting in a constant need to have recording devices nearby. For Rembold, the cupboards full of tapes and even a full phone message bank all document moments where she has felt inspired, seeing potential for her ideas to become songs.

KELLARISSA

Larissa Loyva, also known as “Kellarissa” (Finnish for “in the basement”) has been performing, recording and touring with Vancouver-based bands for the past decade. In 2008 she released Flamingo, her first solo album for Mint Records. The followup album, Moon of Neptune, also on Mint, was released in March. This show is a belated album release celebration for Moon of Neptune, and also marks Larissa’s debut as a member of The Lost Lovers Brigade.

SHIMMERING STARS

Shimmering Stars is a three-piece dream pop act from Vancouver, BC, Canada. The music embodies an attempt at drawing out and illuminating the subtle darkness inherent in the seemingly wholesome, innocent music of the 1950s and 60s. The result filters older influences like the Everly Brothers, Del Shannon, Phil Spector, and Bo Diddley through a contemporary indie lens.
