What is radio art? How might radio art challenge mainstream conceptions of radio as a medium? What does it mean to shape or alter the frequencies feeding into and out of CiTR 101.9FM?

On Tuesday, January 17th CiTR celebrates Arts Birthday and lends modern art a transmitter for 24 Hours of Radio Art. Tune into CiTR 101.9FM or stream online between Jan 17th 6AM to Jan 18th 6AM to hear radio art, composition, and performance from CiTR programmers, sound artists, and special guests.

The concept of giving art a birthday was introduced by French born artist Robert Filliou, who asserted that 1,000,000 years ago there was no art. But one day, on the 17th of January to be precise, ART was born.
