UBC Refugee Relief presents Fundraising Gala: Hungry 4 Change on Monday, April 11

UBC Refugee Relief and Oxfam UBC with the support of UCM at UBC and STAND UBC are hosting Fundraising Gala: Hungry 4 Change to help raise money for the private sponsorship of a Syrian refugee family of eight on Monday, April 11 from 5:30 to 9:00 in the UBC Nest Ballroom.

A ticket costs $40 and provides a Syrian inspired dinner made by Cazba Restaurant will begin with Syrian music by Ahmed Khaldieh on the oud. Non-alcoholic beverages will be served.

A panel of UBC professors who specialize in Middle-Eastern politics, culture, and history will lead a discussion, followed by a spoken word performance by Stephen McCausland and a dance performace by the UBC Rueda Club. Attendees will have a chance to bid on artwork, spa packages, BC Lions tickets, fashion accessories, and cooking classes at the silent auction.

The event will be accompanied with lively music from the UBC Jazz Café.

The dress-code is semi-formal.
