March 2 @ The SUB Ballroom

7pm-7am

Thirty four teams have already raised over $17,000 for cancer research. The relay is a 12 hour, overnight, event where one member of every team must be walking around the track at all times. It is a great way to bring people together, have fun and raise money for a great cause!

The Relay for Life is a unique, empowering and unforgettable fundraising event that celebrates cancer survivors, remembers loved ones lost to cancer, mobilizes communities and fights back against all cancers. The event takes place in different communities all across Canada. It is a 12 hour, overnight, event where one member of every team must be walking around the track at all times. It is a great way to bring people together, have fun and raise money for a great cause!

WHY DO IT:

Canadian Cancer Society Stats:
-it’s estimated that: 2 out of 5 Canadians will develop Cancer
-1 out of 4 Canadians are expected to die from Cancer
-Cancer is the leading cause of premature death in Canada
With statistics like that there is no question that everyone has a personal connection with the cause. Not only is this a great volunteer opportunity (that might help you in achieving your personal career goals) but it is also a great way to fight back and make a difference.

Thanks to research, more people are surviving the disease with less severe treatment, and we’ve found more ways to prevent cancer and to detect it early. We need your support to continue to make these advances!

WHERE THE MONEY RAISED GOES:

Funds raised through Relay For Life support the Canadian Cancer Society’s mission to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life of Canadians living with cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society has more impact in more communities against more cancers than any other cancer organization. Money raised towards the Relay for Life help the Canadian Cancer Society save lives by funding leading cancer research, offering support services to those in need and leading prevention initiatives.
